King Coal Rotating Head Stoker and Boiler Package:

Boiler:

Reconditioned KEWANEE 3R7 steel firetube, low pressure heating boiler with new insulated metal jacket. This 3R7 is rated @ 980,000 BTU/Hr output.

New trim and controls for boiler supplied loose for field installation are as follows:

• Pressure relief valve
• Combination pressure and temperature gauge
• Honeywell operating aquastat
• Honeywell high limit aquastat
• Honeywell low temperature shutoff switch
• McDonnell/Miller No. 64 Low water cutoff

New custom rear smokebox with built-in flyash removal auger

Stoker:

KCFC will provide a King Coal™ rotating head bin feed stoker with mounting plate. This rotating head is designed to for free burning oiled stoker Coal. The stoker is designed to fire the above KEWANEE 3R7 at its rated capacity.  This stoker has a 25" diameter rotating ash ring to groom ash from the burner head. It is designed to work in unison with the coal feed auger so as coal is being introduced onto the burner head, ash is being removed and shed off the outer perimeter and into an ash removal system. The stoker's bin feed auger is custom made (up to 16' long). The stoker is supplied with a 3-speed transmission with a belt and pulley drive which allows further adjustability. Combustion air is supplied by a direct drive blower with adjustable damper.

The stoker drive is mounted on the coal bin end of the bin feed auger. This is ideal for feeding coal from a hopper bottom storage bin.An open top, open bottom, four sided box is placed around the bin feed auger. The best method is to construct a two-piece clamp-around box assembly.

Steel base assembly:

KCFC will fabricate the support base for the above boiler. The base will need to be thermally protected from the inside.A common method is to line the inside walls with firebrick. Since the boiler is placed on the steel base, the firebrick lining also protects the base's top flange. It is recommended that the top couple of courses extend inside the base several inches more than the wall lining. This will insure that the bottom of the boiler's water legs do not receive direct flame impingement.

The stoker is supplied with a mounting plate with integral bolt hole locations. This allows the stoker assembly to be removed, if necessary. The mounting side of the base should be equipped with a cutout to allow installation and extraction.

Automated ash removal system options available (not included):

Ash removal can best be accomplished by means of an automated in-base and external combination of ash augers, or, a sub-grade ash storage pit with incline ash transfer auger..

KCFC can provide completely built ash augers or sell flighting only if the Customer wishes to build the auger(s) locally.We use 4-3/4" OD, 3/8" thick auger flighting designed to weld onto a 1-1/2" diameter solid shaft.This flighting is sold per lineal foot.

Control panel:

KCFC will provide a control panel designed to operate the boiler and stoker. Labeled terminals will be provided for connections to boiler controls and equipment motors.

The above described boiler and stoker equipment is priced FOB our manufacturing plant in Bismarck, ND.It can be picked up at our plant or we can coordinate shipping with the Customer's designated carrier.
